Laboratory Specialist at the Institute of Energy and Environment at the University of São Paulo (IEE-USP) for over 28 years, participating in various processes of creation and accreditation of laboratories unique in Brazil and worldwide since 1995. He holds a degree in Electronics Technology from the Faculty of Technology of Sorocaba (1995), a specialization in Quality Engineering (1998) from PECE at the Polytechnic School of USP, and a master's degree (2007) and Ph.D. (2012) in Nuclear Technology from IPEN - University of São Paulo. He served as technical coordinator from 2012 to 2016 in the development, implementation, and accreditation of the first laboratory in the Southern Hemisphere for the characterization and testing of materials and PPE for electric arc (LAEVe-IEE-USP). He is currently the Supervisor of the Technical Service for Safety and Performance of Electrical Equipment and Materials at IEE-USP and an Associate Researcher at LAEVe-IEE-USP, acting as coordinator of CE-032:006.004 - Study Commission on Protective Clothing - Thermal Hazards - Heat and Flame, and secretary of CE-032:006.005 - Study Commission on PPE for Electrical Hazards, of the Brazilian Committee for Personal Protective Equipment ABNT/CB32. Since 2014, he has been appointed by ABNT/CB32 as the Brazilian Expert in IEC/TC78 working groups on Protection against Electric Arc, especially in topics such as clothing, hand protection, eye, face, and head protection, and general requirements for manufacturing, selection, use, and care of PPE for thermal effects of electric arcs. He also currently participates in IEC PC128 - Management of Operations with Electrical Energy.

Filipe Resende is an electrical engineer who graduated from the Federal Technological Education Center of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG) in 2010, holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2016 and is a PhD candidate in electrical engineering, also at UFMG. He is currently a technical manager at the company VALE, where he has been since 2012, and a postgraduate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais PUC-MG, on the course Protection of Electrical Power Systems, where he has been teaching since 2020. Filipe is a member of the IEEE and is part of the working group, within ABNT's CB-003, for the creation of the Brazilian standard on electric arc and incident energy. Filipe has been working for more than 12 years in the field of protection of industrial electrical systems, with a strong focus on arc flash and incident energy.
