Anderson Severo is a Control and Automation Engineer with a Master's degree and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). He serves as Technical Manager of DERlab - Distributed Energy Resources Laboratory, an INMETRO-accredited laboratory for testing photovoltaic inverters and distributed energy resource technologies. He is the rapporteur of Working Group 4 of ABNT CEE-253, responsible for revising the ABNT NBR 16149 and ABNT NBR 16150 standards and for developing the Brazilian standard for power export control systems (zero grid). His research and project work focuses on distributed generation, energy storage, electric mobility, charging infrastructure, and the integration of distributed energy resources.

The expansion of electric mobility requires charging solutions that are increasingly efficient, intelligent, and seamlessly integrated into power systems. This short course will introduce the key concepts related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure, covering different types of chargers, sizing criteria, integration with photovoltaic systems and battery storage, load management strategies, demand control, and the outlook for smart grids. It will also address technical challenges, regulatory requirements, and trends in the Brazilian market, providing practical insights for professionals involved in the design, installation, and operation of these solutions.
