Architecturally integrated solar energy: from conventional rooftop systems to photovoltaic integration How to turn solar design into a competitive advantage

Wednesday, August 26, 2026

Time
10:00am–12:00pm
Hall
1st floor
Room
Santana 1

This workshop aims to expand the professional opportunities available to photovoltaic integrators and architects by developing a more strategic approach to using building surfaces for solar energy generation. Participants will learn to identify solutions that go beyond conventional rooftop systems, exploring applications on façades, pergolas and other architectural elements.

The workshop will cover the differences between conventional PV systems, BAPV and BIPV; tools for assessing solar potential, irradiation and shading; modules and mounting solutions suited to architectural applications; and basic sizing principles for different orientations, inclinations and shading conditions. Practical examples will demonstrate how solar design can become a competitive advantage.
